District Chairman’s Responsibilitiesfor the Ohio Association Of Agricultural Educators
The District Chairpersons’ will be responsible for: 1.Assisting OAAE in the planning and implementation of an annual Program of Works. 2.Coordinating the development and distribution of a district calendar of events in connection with state level activities 3. Coordinating the recruitment and installation of responsible individuals to fill district positions (appointed or elected) *Assistant District Chair *District Membership Chair *District Skills Committee Chair *District Camp Board Representative *District FFA Foundation Contact *District FFA Liaison Representative 4. Serve as a spokesperson for teachers in the district to the OAAE Executive Council, State ODE Staff and teacher education. The district Chair is expected to help communicate critical issues and concerns of District agriculture teachers. 5. Collaborate with the State ODE Staff, OAAE and district members in planning and coordinating district meetings. *establishing the business agenda *distribution of agenda before the meeting date *presiding over business meeting using parliamentary law with impartiality *coordinating related professional development relevant to all agriculture teachers in attendance 6. To attend the above responsibilities your presence will be expected at the following seven leadership functions: *attend the Fall and Spring Agriculture Education Community Leadership Meetings *attend Fall, Winter and Spring Delegate Council Meetings *attend Ag-Summit Update and OAAE Conference in June *the All-Ohio Conference in July/August *other functions as determine by your District 7. The District Chair shall also serve as the legislative representative for the district. The chair should communicate the legislative information to the district and create a legislative tree for the OAAE. |
